Upon purchasing the cabbage, wrap the entire head in plastic wrap and put it in the freezer. After at least 24 hours, remove the cabbage head, allow to thaw completely, then gently remove and wash each individual leaf. You will find that freezing the cabbage head has made the leaves pliable and much easier to stuff and roll for cooking.
