My lawn is totally brown, no green spots at all, even the weeds have died. There is nothing at all to mow. No rain has fallen here since August 31 when I got 2 showers that totaled one inch. There have been some lightning strikes but no rain accompanying them. Fire danger is elevated across the area. Some north & central Florida neighborhoods are being warned to not leave pet food out & to lock garbage containers because many raccoons & bears are searching for food & water & will enter homes if they get the chance. There have been many days this month with record breaking temperatures. Last spring we had a late frost after oak trees had started blooming and I'm thinking that is the reason my oak trees have no acorns at all, none dropped on the ground and none visible in the trees, thus none of the usual food for wildlife such as deer & turkeys, and nothing for the squirrels to store for the winter. The river is about 30 ft below flood stage. If the drought continues many wells will start going dry.

Re: Drought
Hope you get some rain! We went all month without it until last night's 1/10th of an inch. And August water bill was even higher than Sept. It rained early in the month and just quit.

Global warming.
We haven't had much rain either.
Hope you get some without the severe stuff.
