Was watching late news @11:52 PM last night on TV located just below my west window when all of a sudden the entire sky & inside my living room lit up in a flash even brighter than any noon day sun but with a green tint to it. Simultaneously, a loud boom shook my house & rattled windows. I muted my TV to listen for further explosive sounds but heard none. No rain started so I figured it wasn't lightning but something had to have blown up or exploded and hoped it wasn't an airplane. I see in news today that others 35 miles west of me, as the crow flies, also heard an explosion as the sky lit up and that the Geological Satellite which monitors lightning strikes recorded the flash which was apparently a meteor. Someone's outdoor video camera even caught photos of the light flash outside their camper & truck. Weather bureau people are saying if it landed it did so in Florida. Glad I'm still here to share the experience with you.

Re: Meteor
Lots of videos and stills of the falling meteor fireball as seen by many, but to view the flash of light which I and some others experienced, I found one video from Crawfordville which someone might enjoy seeing. To view, do a search for the following -
Watch: Massive meteor lights up Florida sky - nola.com
When you reach that site, scroll down to the night time dark hued video of a long cab pickup truck. Click on that 16 second video & see the flash of light which was as bright or brighter than noonday sun as it lights up a camper and truck.
