Re: A little early
No turkey was sacrificed at our dinner...we had chicken soup. Hubby had the flu, but to be safe, we got tested for covid and were both negative.

Re: A little early
A neighbor brought me a jar of potato chowder soup, a big slice of cornbread, bottles of buttermilk & cane syrup. She had made them from her homegrown potatoes, corn, churned butter, buttermilk, smoked ham, and cane syrup. They smoke their own meat and grind their own cane each year. They haven't bagged a turkey or deer yet this hunting season. Not many "ole timers" are left these days and few youth of today are even interested in learning those skills which could ultimately contribute to their survival. The potato chowder was absolutely the best I have ever tasted. They and I are thankful for every bite of food our Lord has provided.
