What a rare treat Psycho. The odds of seeing one used to be about 1 in 100,000 but I don't know what the odds are today since more and more of them have been seen lately across Ohio. Do you know if your new pet is an albino with pink eyes or a mutated one lacking a fur pigment gene but with normal eye color? I've never seen a white squirrel but have seen some mutated white deer.

It has normal eye color. I haven't seen it today. But a friend of ours said she sees it all thetime at her mums house, she lives two blocks from here.

Hopefully Flake, or maybe Flakey, will come back, wondering if you are giving the squirrels whole unshelled peanuts or shelled out ones. The gray squirrels in my yard are searching for fresh acorns which have just begun to fall, and burying them when they find them. Yesterday I had five deer and eight turkeys within 4 feet of my back door. The fact that I was sitting there watching them (staying still as I could) did not seem to bother them. Occasionally they would lift their heads and look at me, then go back to searching. The turkeys were finding edibles in the grass and the deer pulled down wild grape vines while searching for food.

I have unsalted peanuts in the shell and I have a bag of unsalted brazil pecan almond and philberts I give to my favorite Tuco He or She gets them out of my pocket sometimes LOL

I'm wondering if the squirrels are still visiting and if they are eating the nuts or taking them & hiding them somewhere to stock up for their winter storage. I guess that is what the white one is using your neighbor's mailbox for.
