Awakened at 3 AM with something crawling across my neck under my chin; swatted it off at lightning speed and jumped out of my sleep recliner chair; then thought due to size my swatting hand had felt that it must have been a harmless chameleon lizard; checked my shoes to make sure it had not landed in them before putting them on; shook out the bedsheet that had been spread over my sleeping self; out fell a scolopendromorpha (giant centipede about 4 inches long); then proceeded to stomp on it four or five times to squash all of it's parts into oblivion - which resulted in a nasty mess to clean off the floor & shoe soles; checked out all of my bedding before retiring again. If that thing had bitten or stung me, particularly on the neck, I would have been in bad trouble because I'm allergic to stinging insect venom in the wasp, bee, and ant families. Oh well, that's just a part of Florida environment.

Re: Centipede
The only real consolation upon losing one's mother seems to be knowing they are resting in peace and by the Grace of God we will see them again. My condolences to you Sunshine.
