I've been among the "living dead" for 6 weeks with either some kind of virus or a very bad reaction to the new Shingles shot, don't know which, maybe both, have not gotten over "whatever" yet. It has left me exhausted with bouts of irregular heartbeat & high blood pressure in spite of taking my Losartan. I came mighty close to calling 911 for an ambulance several times but knew they would just take me to the ER where I'd be X-rayed, drained by a lab vampire, held for observation & then I'd be told to go home, rest & drink extra fluids. Then I would have to call a $75 taxi to take me home & await 8 to $10,000 hospital & Dr. bills.
I know where and when I got it - at the Walmart Pharmacy when I went to pick up my prescriptions & get the new Shingles shot on January 2. It started with headache, sore throat & runny nose 8 hours later, then got progressively worse like the worst cold of my life - sinus and chest congestion, great difficulty breathing, so short of breath it was difficult to stay upright long enough to fix anything to eat or drink, chills, diarrhea, ulcerated mouth, tongue, throat & nose. It altered my vision & everywhere I looked it seemed as though I was viewing everything through a pink or yellow curtain. I'm supposed to get a 2nd dose of the Shingles shot within 2 to 6 months to complete the dosage. If I fully recuperate from this I may get the 2nd dose if I get all my "affairs in order" by that time (in case it kills me), just wish I knew what made me so sick. I haven't been to China and don't know anyone who has.
I too check both boards daily and wonder why so many people check the other board but never post anything.

Well thank the Lord ye still be with us. Take care and stay away from Wally World and crowds.

I'm due to get my 2nd shingle shot too any day, just have to call and make sure they have some on hand. My arm hurt for days after that one. Mild side effects too.

Several years ago I had the old live virus shingles shot and it had no side effects for me at all, not even a sore arm. This new vaccine without the live virus did leave a red welt about 4" across but that was gone in about 6 days. If I decide to go ahead and get the 2nd dose I'll wait until the 5th month to do so. I do see that there are some reports of this vaccine causing an irregular heart rate and that concerns me.

It's been 5 months for me too, better get over there for the 2nd shot. The old shot caused no side effects for me too but you just described what happened with the 4 inch mark and pain on arm.
