Ocasio-Cortez Gives Tearful Concession Speech After Learning She Only Got 78% Of Vote
THE BRONX, NY—Star Democratic socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took the stage at her election night rally Tuesday evening to give a somber concession speech after learning she only received 78% of the vote in her district.
An intern approached Ocasio-Cortez shortly after the polls closed and told her she was projected to win almost 4/5 of the vote, causing the candidate to burst into tears. The intern tried to interject, but Ocasio-Cortez interrupted: "No, I have to let them know. They deserve that much."
She jumped up on stage and congratulated her opponent while thanking her supporters for trying. "Well, mis amigos, it's all over. We fought hard, we tried hard. But in the end we could only get about 80% of the vote," she said, fighting back tears. "All the polls going into this said we were gonna win. I can't believe it's over. But don't let the fight end here. Next time we'll fight harder and get at least 10% of the vote."
"We will overcome!" she concluded before heading offstage to mourn her loss alone as the crowd wept bitterly.
Poor thing!
I think the DemocRATs should make her speaker. Princess Nancy thinks it should be her. But Nancy has periods (days, weeks) of dementia and often doesn't know where she is, loses track of what she's saying, etc and etc.
In the case of ol' Alex, though, it's natural and constant! No guessing when she'll stop in the middle of a sentence and appear to be lost. No concerns she might start repeating herself multiple times in a speech or press conference. No worries that she might start making up "facts" on the spot, getting several things mixed together in an incomprehensible mess or making statements about things that are completely unrelated to whatever she's supposed to be talking about. Those are things you can bet on, all the time, every time!
The good news is, she could be ready to go soon. Most likely after her big military parade to celebrate her electoral victory, then perhaps her inauguration on Friday. And boom, off to a running start on Monday!
