I eat oats when I have to but try to avoid it if I can find a substitute. It's not an allergy thing just taste and texture.

APPLE CRUMBLE WITHOUT OATS?

In mixing bowl toss to evenly coat one peeled & thinly sliced apple with 1 T firmly packed brown sugar, l tsp any kind of flour, 1/4 to 1/2 tsp cinnamon or apple pie spice & 1 tsp melted butter or margarine. Divide mixture into two 4 to 6 " microwaveable ramekins coated with cooking spray. Zap on high for 2 minutes. According to taste - sprinkle lightly with cinnamon or apple pie spice & top with crumbled favorite cranberry/almond granola bar. If desired, serve with large spoonful Greek Yogurt as topping. Makes 2 servings.

I made a crumble last week using Granny Smith apples and Bare Naked brand nuts and fruit granola because
I didn't have any oatmeal. I think it turned out better with the granola that the oatmeal I usually use.
Thanks for planting the idea in my head.
And of course we had vanilla ice cream with it
