When I worked for the police the lady at the front desk would get bent out of shape when I took the day off. She didn't care that I took it off for my birthday. But I always said I was taking the dog's birthday off. His was the same day.
He died last year. About 2 weeks after his birthday.
I have another dog (did then, too) that has a birthday at almost the same date. She was born on Reagan's birthday, Feb 6. We just went out and celebrated. Good weather for a change. So she got to go to the park and I bought her Church's chicken strips, her absolute favorite above everything else. I would have waited until the 6th, but we're supposed to have a high in the 20s, possible snow, etc that day. 61 here right now and this weather is easier on her 11-year-old Basset bones.
